Rosie Yolanda Ferry, born on May 31, 1929, a life-long resident of Alexandria, Virginia, having a wonderful life, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on November 3, 2019. Rosie, born in Buffalo, New York, was raised in Del Ray and graduated from George Washington High School. She worked for the Kennedy Administration, the President's Commission on Women's Issues, in the front office at Saint Rita's Catholic Church, Control Data, and retired after 18 years at the School Nutrition Association when she was in her mid eighties.

She was one of seven children born to the late Joseph and Gina Pistolesi and was the beloved wife of John J. Ferry, Sr. for over 30 years. Rosie will forever be remembered by her: devoted brothers Alfred and Peter Pistolesi, loving sister Eda Morris, beloved children Timothy and Jack Ferry, treasured nieces and nephews, caring in-laws Joan and Millie Pistolesi and Donna and Barry Gilbert, along with countless other friends and family who were blessed to have known her.

Rosie loved watching "Survivor", laughing, being with her family, having fun with friends and enjoyed being with her sons and giving them guidance and advice.

Rosie touched the lives of many people with her smile and generosity and maintained her trademark sense of humor all the way to the end.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 3305 Glen Carlyn Road, Falls Church, Virginia 22041 with interment at Mount Comfort Cemetery.
