  1. I knew Howard when we both were at The King’s College from 1955 to 1959.  He was always a kind gentleman.  He and George Schaeffer were buddies and the nicest guys.  George and Howard and I were in a ‘sort of play’ where the guys, in uniforms, were supposed to be on leave at a Hawaiian restaurant and I was in a trio singing the traditional Aloha song.  At one point I landed in George’s lap during the singing.  I was called into the Registrar’s office and chided for my actions.  I have to laugh about that now.  It’s one of my favorite memories of college.  I offer my sympathies to Howard’s wife and family.  From the Facebook posts I can see that he and his wife were deeply in love and were wonderful parents.  I will pray for comfort.
