Clelia M. Capestany

"QUELLITA"

Peacefully, on a cloudless Spring morning, their azaleas in full bloom, Clelia Lugo Capestany left this earthly world.

Married for 76 years & 6 months, to the only love of her life," CAPE"!  This love affair began in 1937.  Cape pursued unwaveringly for seven years until she succumbed.  Their early years were spent at home in Puerto Rico enjoying their two sons and extended family.  Life took an unexpected turn in 1985 when they moved to Ft. Washington, Maryland to happily become active, doting grandparents.  This was an opportunity Clelia was not going to miss...one of her greatest joys in life in addition to being an adoring supportive wife, accomplished homemaker and devoted mother.  She coveted her spiritual devotion to the Catholic Church.  Her quiet, self-effacing way endeared her to those around her.

Survivors include her husband, Salvador (Cape), her sons Jose (Eddie) and Noel (Cecilia), and grandchildren Beatrice (David) and Paul.

A funeral mass of Christian burial will take place on Wednesday, April 28 at 10:30 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Alexandria.  Private interment will be at Quantico National Cemetery.
