Stephen Sheftic, 95, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2018, surrounded by his family at home in Centreville, Virginia.

Steve was born in Ralphton, Pennsylvania on June 26, 1922. He resided in Jenners, Pennsylvania until moving to Falls Church, Virginia in 1980, living there for 25 years. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the 80th Infantry Division and was wounded at the Battle of the Bulge. He was awarded a Purple Heart with One Oak Leaf Cluster and a Bronze Star. After returning from the Army, he was employed as the steward of the Jenner Rod and Gun Club.

Steve was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years, Grace, his parents Michael and Mary(Ristvey), brothers Michael Jr., George, Basil, John, Andrew, Nicholas and sisters Mary Skasko, Sue Vesek and Anne Melnkovic.

Steve is survived by his children Barbara Kissell, Sharon Bonney (Kyle), Stephen Sheftic,Jr. (Joyce) and Joanne Wiser (Larry) and his grandchildren Tristan, Austin, Victoria and Abigail.

Friends and family will be received on Friday, January 26, 2018, beginning with a viewing at 10 a.m. followed by a church service beginning at 11 a.m. Both will be held at Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church, 10201 Democracy Boulevard, Potomac, MD.

Flowers may not be received at the church; donations in Stephen Sheftic's name may be made to the Disabled Veterans (DAV.org)

Interment will be held in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
